Born in the  District to an Indian Father and Irish mother - Claire grew up moving around the the UK and visiting Kolkata observing the enormous differences in the organisation of life, everyday practices and the spaces that contain and create those cultures. She moved to London to study Fine Art at Central St Martins followed by achieving a first class from Chelsea college of Art. After opening a gallery for a period and spending a period in Kolkata again she embarks on a masters in Design Sociology for the London School of Economics and went on to work in design and research for LSE Cities, Gehl Architects in Copenhagen and finally as Head of Design at Future Cities in London and as a Built Environment expert for the Design Council UK. During this period she spoke widely and taught at a variety of Universities on the relationship between design and society.

‘First we make our buildings and then they make us’

In 2016 Claire moved her design focus onto Interiors but bringing her range of experiences to a practice which really focuses on cultural and historical detail of client and place as it’s foundation. Having honed a network of makers, suppliers and experts who all share very high low-impact credentials, the practice is set to grow in the coming period.

Claire has a special interest in creative re-use, altering and re-using furniture and materials in projects and has a strong entirely bio-based certified range of suppliers to bring to projects.

She also has a background in Universal design and is developing a full-service offer especially for retirees  looking to create a stylish, smaller home designing-in accessibility for all eventualities.
